It’s your wedding, it’s your day to shine and celebrate your marriage. Why not have it reflect the essence of you and your partner? Some people are inspired by cultural or ethnic styles and some by colors or holidays. Whatever drives your inspiration, it should be something that you are passionate about, something that makes you smile, something that you can call your own.
This wedding, inspired by the pallet of Monet’s painting “Water Lily” is a beautiful interpretation of the jewel toned pallet used by the artist. It’s dreamy, intense and just a little bit whimsical. The theme is carefully carried out throughout the setting. The invitations introduce the theme as soon as the envelope is opened. Then, it is carefully carried out in the details throughout, from the clothing to the food, from the drinks to the florals. The planner left nothing to chance, and the results are stunning.
For our part, Chef Paul, from Primal Alchemy Catering, created an array of colorful, tasty appetizers. Utilizing natural colors found in Prickly Pears to create a hot pink Ceviche to the vibrant golden yellow of the Parsnip Soup and the whimsical pallet of dips and, of course, edible wildflowers to add that pop.
If Monet is not your thing, there are so many ways to get inspiration for your wedding. Have you traveled to a beautiful country where you had a memorable dining experience? Maybe you can incorporate that food or ingredient into your reception. Did you get engaged on the beach in a tropical paradise? Maybe pay homage to that by having a wedding reflecting the cool blues and vibrant colors of the islands with a menu to match. We have done weddings with the couple coming from different cultural backgrounds where we combined the ethnic foods into a menu celebrating both together. There are no rules, who says you can’t have both Curry and Tacos? We always find a way to make it work, and to be honest, those kinds of weddings are the most fun for us to help plan.
There are so many ways to celebrate your big day. Formal and informal. A big traditional wedding or a small intimate one, a country wedding in a barn or a mountaintop. Whatever you use to inspire your big day, let it reflect your own vision and dream…with the food to go with it.
